    The River View Ranch is a 60-acre private facility with an outstanding setup and is located about eight miles south of our conference hotel. The show animals will be housed on the ranch property and our simulcast auction will take place on site at the multi-purpose venue.

Marland Ray Memorial Junior Judging Scholarship Competition Set for Friday, Dec. 6

Competition Guidelines:

$1800 IN SCHOLARSHIPS! Entry and registration free – all juniors ages 9 thru 19 are invited to participate. Junior membership in Western Bison Association, 4-H or FFA is not required.

• Top scoring individual will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to a school of higher education of their choice.

• Second top scoring individual will be awarded $500 scholarship.

• Third top scoring individual will be awarded $300 scholarship.

• Take home awards will be presented to the top three scoring individuals and the top three scoring teams made up of three to four participants.

• The judging format will be like that used by the 4-H and FFA. All participants will judge three classes of bison; these bison will already be at The River View Ranch location in preparation for the Western Bison Association’s Wild West Buffalo Stampede Show & Sale.

Schedule of Events:

• 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Orientation - basics of judging - instructions on filling in a judging card.

• 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Pre-judging instructions - Q & A - classes being judged - other event related information.

• 12:30 p.m. - Judging begins.

• 3:30 p.m. - Announcement of winners - distribute prizes/awards - photograph the winners.

• 6:00 p.m. - Western Bison Association Awards Banquet at the host hotel; Comfort Suites, 2250 S 1200 W Ogden, UT. The top three individual scoring/scholarship winners are invited to attend and will be recognized.
